Replacing missing teeth with dentures

What Are Full and Partial Dentures?

Full and partial dentures are removable dental appliances used when teeth are missing. Full dentures replace a complete set of missing teeth, while partial dentures replace one or more teeth in a specific area. A partial denture rests on a gum-colored base and may include a metal framework. We take impressions to create a mold, review replacement tooth size, shape, and color, then use a dental lab to build and adjust the denture.

Restore Your Everyday Smile

Benefits of Full and Partial Dentures

Missing teeth can change how you approach everyday moments and future dental decisions. Choosing Full and Partial Dentures means considering how many teeth are missing, where gaps occur, your oral hygiene, and long-term fit. With thoughtful planning and honest feedback during fittings, you can move toward a replacement that feels natural in your routine.

Enjoy Meals with Greater Ease

Missing teeth can make certain foods difficult to manage. Full and Partial Dentures restore the surfaces needed for chewing, helping you sit down to meals with less hesitation and enjoy a wider range of everyday foods.
Gaps in your smile may affect how clearly or comfortably you speak. Replacing missing teeth can help you feel more at ease during conversations, phone calls, and family gatherings where sharing your thoughts matters.
You may find yourself hiding your smile in photos, meetings, or casual conversations. Dentures can replace visible gaps and help you feel more comfortable showing up fully during the moments you want to remember.
An open gap can allow neighboring teeth to shift over time, changing your bite and placing added strain on your mouth. Replacing missing teeth helps support a more stable arrangement and long-term oral health.
Dentures can fit into a straightforward home routine when cleaned regularly and cared for properly. That consistent attention helps keep your gums healthy, supports a fresh feeling, and helps your replacement continue looking its best.
Every mouth has different gaps, contours, and needs. A personalized denture plan considers your oral health and preferences, while fitting feedback helps shape a replacement that feels more secure and natural throughout your day.

You Can Return to Meals, Conversations, and Smiles with Renewed Everyday Confidence.

A Clear Look at Your Full and Partial Denture Treatment Steps

Understanding what to expect can make full and partial dentures feel more manageable. We explain how your needs shape the plan, invite honest feedback about fit and appearance, and keep comfort in view as your new teeth are designed to support everyday eating, speaking, and smiling.
1

Find the Right Fit

Your first visit begins with a conversation about your missing teeth, oral hygiene, and goals. We consider the location of any gaps, bone strength, and whether full or partial dentures suit your needs. This thoughtful evaluation gives you space to ask questions and feel more comfortable with the plan.
2

Shape Your New Smile

Impressions of your teeth help create the mold for your dentures. You review the size, shape, and coloring of the replacement teeth, then try a lab-made mock-up during a fitting visit. Your honest feedback helps us refine how your dentures look, feel, and fit before the final design is created.
3

Enjoy Everyday Comfort

After the final dentures arrive, we make small adjustments for comfort, fit, or bite. We also explain regular cleaning, at-home care, and follow-up denture cleanings to support healthy gums. You leave with a personalized way to replace missing teeth and feel more at ease eating, speaking, and smiling.

Frequently asked questions

Full and Partial Dentures FAQs

Choosing dentures can bring up questions about fit, comfort, appearance, cleaning, and daily use. We will explain how full and partial dentures may support your smile and function, then help you understand the steps involved. Reach out with any concerns not covered below.

What are full and partial dentures?

Full and partial dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. Full dentures are designed for patients missing teeth, while partial dentures replace one or more teeth in a specific area. We consider your oral health, fit, function, and goals when discussing which option may suit you.
A consultation helps us determine whether dentures fit your needs. We consider your oral hygiene, the location of missing teeth, bone strength, and long-term viability for dentures. Your goals, comfort, and ability to maintain the dentures also help shape your treatment plan.
We begin by taking dental impressions to create a mold. Then we review the size, shape, and color of the replacement teeth. You try a lab-made mock-up during a fitting, share honest feedback, and receive final adjustments for comfort, bite, and fit.
Comfort depends on the fit and your adjustment to wearing dentures. We check how your dentures look and feel during fitting appointments, then make small in-house adjustments for comfort, bite, or fit. Sharing pressure points or movement helps us refine the result.
The process usually involves impressions, a mock-up, a fitting appointment, laboratory changes, and a final fitting. Because the lab builds your custom dentures after your feedback, the total timeline varies. We will explain the expected steps and schedule for your treatment.
Clean your dentures frequently, just as you clean your natural teeth, and follow the at-home care instructions we provide. Regular cleaning helps support healthy gums and keeps your dentures looking their best. We also recommend follow-up visits for periodic denture cleanings.
Dentures require ongoing upkeep and maintenance rather than a one-time solution. Your fit, oral health, cleaning routine, and changes in your mouth can affect their service life. Regular checkups allow us to assess your dentures, gums, and surrounding areas over time.
Removable partial dentures are less invasive than implants and may suit patients seeking a removable replacement. Implants are another option, but candidacy depends on factors such as bone strength and oral health. We can compare these approaches and discuss what fits your needs.
When a gap remains open, neighboring teeth can shift. That movement may change your bite and contribute to long-term concerns involving your gums and jaw bone. During your exam, we can discuss whether full or partial dentures may help restore the missing teeth.
The cost of dentures depends on your treatment needs, the number of missing teeth, and the design selected. We can review your care plan and discuss available payment options with you. Reach out before treatment so you understand the financial details ahead.

Comfort and Precision Through Modern Innovation

Better tools don’t just make dentistry faster. They change what actually happens in the chair. Three-dimensional imaging shows us problems long before you feel them, which means smaller treatments caught early instead of larger ones down the road. Digital design lets us build and place many restorations while you wait, so you skip the temporary crown and the second appointment altogether. Laser treatment replaces scalpels and sutures in procedures that once required both, and recovery gets easier as a result. At Chattanooga Dental Studio, we judge every piece of equipment by whether it makes your visit more comfortable and your results more predictable.
